Sunday 3 June

10am is most civilised, off to the Daphne Sheldrick's Elephant Orphanage. About 19 of them all rescued from game parks after parents have been killed. It takes about 3 to 5 years before they are ready to out and fend for themselves. In the mean time they are just a little fun animal who appear to like to show off. Saw a couple of little ones having a tug of war with a branch and a keeper on the other end. Strong little fellas cannot imagine the strength of the big boys.
(Team at Harvey travel I have some great video of your little sponsored one which I will pass when I return.)

Can not wait to see the big ones in the wild.
On to the Giraffe centre. This is the only fizzer we have had on the trip so far. They just did not want to play ball with us and stayed a fair distance away in the back paddock.

Still on to Karen Blixen's house. This was good, great house plenty of pictures about her history and all she did and a pile of pictures of Streep and Redford when they filmed Out Of Africa on location. Going to have to take the movie out now when we return.

Finally the Kazuri bead factory, which was actually better than I expected. Not really interested in a shop with coloured beads but seeing the clay extraction gear and overs for backing etc was good.
