Blueday 2 July

7pm pickup and 15 min drive to train station for the Blue Train. Yep it is everything they say. A posh registration lounge in the station then butlered to you cabin. Even a bathroom with bath. But we have a train to explore, went to the lounge bar, scones and cakes on. 20 mins to departure time, train took off at 8:30am.
Chugg, Chugg, Pop. Yep bar opens as train starts to move. By 11am 3 glasses of bubbles and just starting on viognier, thank heavens for brunch. Great escargot to start with for the 4 course meal. Maybe had a few wines with it also and a port with the cheese. Tough life but someone has to keep the butlers employed.
Unpacked the suit sitting in bottom of suitcase all this time, fortunately the butler saw it complete with creases. Few hours later a nicely pressed suit. Little nana nap before 3:30 high tea. The countryside actually looks like the Australian countryside where it is scrub bush. 5pm Kimberly stop to see diamond mines. It is OK I put Carolyn's purse in the safe and told her I forgot the code. Great stop, very interesting. Not allowed back on train unless you have had your sherry from the Blue Train glasses which you get to keep.
Got dressed up as did everyone else on the train, then took our turn to prop up the bar before a 5 course meal. Great seeing all in suit and tie. Massive meal in dinning car then to the bar for wine and spirits. Yes we were the last couple to leave, pleased with ourselves. Little room transformed, bed came out of wall and set for the night. Well I slept well. Something I ate put me to sleep.
I have however worked out how to confuse the staff. Walk on the train say "Hi! I am a tea totalling anorexic."
