Did not wake up until 9:30.
good hotel, Nelson Mandella shopping centre over the road, so did some window shopping before our Johannesburg city tour. So this is South Africa another country.
Went to the old jails first and learnt a lot about what has happened through apartheid and since. Will not say much as not nice and it was not so long ago which is really scary that the prison was still operating.
On to a drive though the centre of Jo..burg which was the main centre for shopping only a few years ago, not now did not see one white person. Apparently all we saw were asylum seekers and refugees. It certainly was an eye opener. So as not to fill us with doom and gloom on our impression of Jo..burg we were then driven around some of the nicer suburbs.
Except for the high fences with electric razor wire on top the houses and shops did look quite nice.
