Wednesday 27 June

So we are of again, 11am and a 1 hour 45 min drive from Victoria Falls to Kasan border crossing into Botswana. 7 of us in the bus. Crossed the boarder and another 10 mins to Kazan. Then we were dropped of. What we did not realise was we were not staying in Botswana, another guide grabbed Carolyn and I walked us down to the river bank, where there was a little 3.5 metre boat for our next part of the journey. First immigration on one side of the river then again on the other side. So we are in Namibia! Hurtled downstream a little to the river lodge Carolyn found on the net. Passed some real big lodges but we had the Ichingo River Lodge, consisting of 8 tents for accommodation. Big double bed shower and toilets in the back of the tent. This Glamping is magic.

Turns out only 5 of us in the whole place. Our own personal guide, wine and food whenever we wanted it, magic. 3:30pm and our guide gets us back into our little boat and takes us to Chobe park. Only 10 mins away. This time we see animals from the water. We try to forget how dangerous Hippo is when we are in such a small boat and only 20 metres from them. Guide opened an esky and produced a nice bottle of white wine and a couple of glasses, this is magic. Some big crocodile on the banks but we got back without being anyone’s dinner.

Dinner with the other 3 guests and the owner, another great day.
