Have a morning to kill. Today is the first time our group is to be more than Carolyn and I.
However we have a problem, 4 people were meant to leave Nairobi early this morning but an Egypt airline plane decided to skid of the runway closing the airport for a large number of hours. Eventually we decided to go and let them catch-up. 7 of 11 take off.
It starts off with more lush countryside a lots of little towns, they do it hard when you see where they live. After a while quite dry sand more livestock. The locals get taller and start wearing checked Kmart picnic blankets around then. Not sure where the store is though, probably off the main road.
As we get closer to our lake destination the country again turns to jungle then for 2 km's snow white.
Amazing then you see the thousands of storks on top of the trees. What is that smell.
Back to jungle road climbs to top of hill overlooking Lake Manyarna and our tents for the night.
This camping is not to bad, concrete floor shower and toilet with hot water in back of tent and a sensational view. Left the walls as fly screen only all night and listened to all the wild noises by the light of the moon.
It was great. Remainder of group caught us about 8:15pm.
Had 2 vehicles so two groups. Ours is 6, us 2 from NSW and 2 from Amsterdam. The other 4 turn out to be great companions.
